Fireside Chat with FDR
The residents are still abuzz after our recent visit with impressionist/retired history teacher Peter Small. His portrayal of FDR was astonishingly accurate, and the audience sat rapt and attentive as "FDR" talked about the many challenges of his long tenure as President. As one resident said later that evening, "Our dinnertime conversation was filled with recollections from the FDR era. Whenever someone spoke it set off a truckload of memories I hadn't thought about in a very long time."

Music To Our Ears!
Along with Spring's sweet sounds of Robin and Cardinal trilling, this week Juniper Village of Chatham Residents were treated to the songbird
sounds of The Larks, a group of women dedicated to sharing their love of music with the local community. Few residents could resist singing and swaying along to such classics as Chattanooga Choo-Choo and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. The Larks have performed together over 20 years, as we bid them continued success in delighting others throughout the region, so we eagerly await their
speedy return to Juniper!

The Red Hats Society Live it Up!
Here's the Red Hat Society's recipe for a joy-filled life: 1. Don a red hat. 2. Celebrate each day with a freewheeling, lighthearted spirit! This week Juniper Village of Chatham's chapter of the Red Hats Society whipped up a big bowl of fun and friendship during their
annual lunch at Summit's Beekman Hill Club. This chance to get to know one another better over a lovely luncheon was courtesy of a generous invitation by the daughter of one our residents. All participants doffed their hats in appreciation, vowing to extend this goodwill to others in true Red Hats (& Juniper!) style.

A Picture Perfect Afternoon
In celebration of Art month, Chad Bleaker of Seniors at Home led a "crafty" bunch of Juniper Village of Chatham residents in a pre-Valentine's Day session of homemade picture frame-making fun. The quality craft was taken to fondly; as soon as the artists completed one frame, they began work on another, making for a most joyful afternoon of creativity and lively conversation. Quality crafts are just one way Juniper Village at Chatham Nurtures our resident's individual choice and preference in daily activities. Each and every day we deliver programs touching upon mind, body and spiritual fulfillment. Because each of our residents hold special qualities in their own life stories, our caring staff works to learn what programming will enrich the quality of life in each individuals life we touch. If you are interested in learning more about how to become involved in our Connections programming, please call today for a list of scheduled upcoming events.

Bridge and Nancy
Bridge has always been popular with the residents at Juniper Village, but since the addition of volunteer Nancy Smith (daughter of resident Larry Lindars), the game has REALLY taken off.
On any given day at 2:00 PM, one can catch a dynamic game of Bridge in
action; in fact, three games running simultaneously is not an unusual sight! Thanks to Nancy's warm, engaging manner and her many tips on winning strategies, increasing numbers of Juniper residents are discovering the joys and challenges of Bridge.
